St. John's Lutheran Church - Greenville PA
Prayer
As a Lutheran Congregation we are a prayful community. We pray for all but especially the sick. The Prayer Chain is composed of members that are contacted about special prayer concerns.
Senior Citizens
The Senior Citizens meet monthly at the the Greenville Perking Restaurant for lunch. We are also very active in many of the church committees.
Sunday School: 9:00 am to 9:45
Sunday School is held through the standard school year. Pastor Coleman teaches the adult class which meets once each month. Anne Baver teaches a Youth Class which will meet generally every other week.
Youth
The youth serve as acolytes at Sunday Services. They attend Sunday School and while in the Confirmation Class they spend a week in June at Lutherlyn in Prospect PA. It is a wonderful week of learning about Our Lord and having fun.
Music
The Purpose of the Worship and Music Committee isto assist the Congregation Council in seeing that our services of worship are conducted on a regular basis and with integrity to the proclamation of Word and Sacrament, as outlined in the approved liturgy and hymnals of the ELCA.
Community service
As a congregation we support several local charities including:
The Bethesda Children Home in Meadville PA
The Good Shepherd Center in Greenville
The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County.
We also support many projects coordinated by the ELCA.
